The core of the data in this database is brand re-sightings from a rigorous annual census of Grey Seals on Sable Island (Eastern Scotian Shelf, NW Atlantic) between late December and early February, and opportunistic sightings in areas where branded seals have temporarily or permanently migrated, including the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Western Scotian Shelf, Bay of Fundy and Gulf of Maine. Harbour Seal brand re-sight data and ecology data from the active research program from the late 80's to early 90's also included.
