Colección de Nemertinos del Museo de Historia Natural Marina de Colombia - Makuriwa

El Museo de Historia Natural Marina de Colombia - MHNMC que hace parte del Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas y Costeras Invemar, custodia entre su material biológico la Colección de Nemertinos (Gusanos cinta). Esta fue creada en el año 2008 a partir de tres lotes que contenían 33 especímenes; aunque se tenía conocimiento de la existencia previa de más lotes, los cuales estuvieron durante varios años confundidos con material de otros grupos de vermes. En el año 2016 durante el proceso de organización del Museo, tras el traslado del Invemar a nuevas instalaciones, el material extraviado fue ubicado; se destinó un espacio físico para esta colección y a partir de allí se dio paso al proceso paulatino de catalogación. Actualmente la colección custodia 323 lotes catalogados, recolectados en diferentes ambientes desde el litoral en la plataforma, hasta el margen continental profundo entre los 0 y 3896 m de profundidad. El material proviene principalmente del Caribe, aunque también se cuenta con algunos especímenes del Pacífico colombiano. Este recurso presenta los registros biológicos correspondientes a todo el material catalogado que fue documentado a partir del proceso de curaduría y catalogación efectuado entre 2022 y 2023 durante el desarrollo del proyecto BID-CA2020-055-NAC. The Marine Natural History Museum of Colombia - MHNMC, which is part of the Marine and Coastal Research Institute Invemar, holds among its biological material the Collection of Nemertines (Tapeworms). This was created in 2008 from three vauchers containing 33 specimens; although there was knowledge of the previous existence of more lotes, which were for several years confused with material from other groups of worms. In 2016, during the process of organizing the Museum, following the transfer of Invemar to new facilities, the missing material was located; physical space was set aside for this collection, and from there the gradual process of cataloging began. The collection currently holds 323 cataloged lots, collected in different environments from the littoral on the shelf to the deep continental margin between 0 and 3896 m depth. The material comes mainly from the Caribbean, although there are also some specimens from the Colombian Pacific. This resource presents the biological records corresponding to all the cataloged material that was documented from the curatorial and cataloging process carried out between 2022 and 2023 during the development of the project.
