Known as the SCANS survey, it was conducted in summer 1994. Shipboard transects covered 20,000 km and aerial transects covered 7000km. Harbour porpoise (Phocoena phocoena), white-beaked dolphin (Lagenorhynchus albirostris) and minke whale (Balaenoptera acutorostrata) dominated the data.
