New carnivorous sponges and allied species from the Great Australian Bight (2017)

Three new species of carnivorous sponges from the family Cladorhizidae from the Great Australian Bight, South Australia are described. They are Nullarbora heptaxia sp. nov., Abyssocladia oxyasters sp. nov. and Lycopodina hystrix sp. nov. A new species in the family Guitarridae, Guitarra davidconryi sp. nov., a family closely related to the carnivorous sponges is also described The data has been acquired on the following RV Investigator voyage IN2017_C01 with links to additional metadata, datasets, events, deployments, publications etc. If this data has been used in any products, please acknowledge with the following: We acknowledge the use of the CSIRO Marine National Facility (https://ror.org/01mae9353) in undertaking this research.
