AIS Settlement Plate Program: Ongoing monitoring of invasive biofouling species on the Pacific coast of Canada

OBIS Canada Open in mapper Explore occurrences

The Aquatic Invasive Species Settlement Plate Program deploys experimental settlement surfaces, usually small PVC plates, on floating structures such as docks, wharfs, and marinas throughout coastal British Columbia annually. It targets non-native biofouling species, although other taxa and common native species are also identified and recorded. This dataset includes the non-native (i.e., invasive) tunicates, bryozoans, barnacles, and anemone species found on the plates to date.
