Paraleptosphaeroma indica n. sp. is described as the first member of the genus from the Indian Ocean. It was found together with Paraciliacea mossambica Barnard, 1914 on coral reefs at Réunion Island and is closely related to Paraleptosphaeroma glynni Buss & Iverson, 1981 from Panama Pacific and the island Dominica in the Caribbean.
