Sea-bird Log Sydney to Cape Town and Panama to Sydney (1957)

The following log records the birds observed on two voyages at different times of the year. The crossing to Cape Town took place mainly during the latter half of April, 1957. on the Shaw Savill liner s.s. Southern Cross, a vessel of 20,000 tons with an average speed of 19 knots. The Pacific crossing was on board the 13,000 ton Tahitien of Messageries Maritimes, an intermediate passenger cargo vessel, average speed 17 knots. This was during November and December, 1957.
