This material was collected by the US Navy in San Diego County, California for an assessment of invertebrates inhabiting various areas of San Diego Bay and for building a DNA barcode library which in the future would facilitate interpretation of eDNA surveys. Some material was preserved in formalin to assist with morphological identifications. Specimens were identified by Dancing Coyote Environmental staff. All ethanol preserved material received was extracted for DNA. There are 106 localities with ~352 lots sent to the MBC/DISCO for generating DNA barcodes. Some sequencing is complete, but has not yet been posted to public databases. Taxa are representatives of fouling community on ropes, settling plates, and Van Veen grabs.
