This dataset is from a paper that described and illustrated a new species of pontoniine shrimp, Periclimenes jackhintoni sp. nov., from Tonga. The new species is most closely related to P. ceratophthalmus Borradaile (Palaemonidae). It is readily distinguished from P. ceratophthalmus. and all other species of Periclimenes, by its unusual sickle-shaped rostrum. The unique specimen was found in association with an unidentified crinoid host.
