BIOGEOMAR | Dataset | Mollusca | Bivalvia The BioGeoMar Program was created in 2019 with the support of the Boticário Group Foundation for Nature Protection in order to analyze the state of knowledge of marine biodiversity in Brazil, describe how biodiversity is distributed along the coast, and point out priority areas for conservation and carry out future studies. The program gathered 18 researchers, 9 postgrads, and 6 research assistants, from different expertise representing 12 public universities in Brazil, working in a collaborative network. Global platforms are being used that obtain information on the geographic distribution of the species and unprecedented data for science from the zoological and botanical collections of the researchers' laboratories are being accessed. All the data will be publicly available in national and international digital repositories. BioGeoMar is also promoting continuous training and contributing to the UN Ocean Decade.
